ZORBA THE GREEK ( MUSIC )
It is a piece written by Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis for the film Zorba the Greek in 1964.

Thirteen years ago a cultural with its own character made its first appearance on our island.
Today it has become a sort of tradition and it is considered an integral part of Symi and its history. Symi’s Festival lasts 3 months during which on the musical scene of the port’s main square well known artists perform ( such as the Greek worldwide famous Greek pianist, Giannis Sgouros).
Up to now several well known artists have honoured our festival with their participation, both Greek singers and composers such as Nana Mouschouri, 
Giorgos Dalaras, Stavros Xarxakos, Maria Farantouri, Giannis Kotsiras, Vassilis Papakonstantinou, Dimidra Galani, Elli Paspala, Savvina Giannatou, and many others. Many Greek actors have also participated in Symi festival (Lakis

Within the festival’s scope several congresses have also been organized concerning health issues, historical topics, etc.
